We are General Practitioners (GP’s) who provide Primary Care. This means our services are designed to keep people well through assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. In summary, we treat acute and chronic illnesses; provide preventive care and health education for all ages and both sexes; care for patients post Hospitalisation; and do minor surgery.
Dr. Jim MacCarthy graduated MB, BA, BAO, BCh, DCh from Trinity College Dublin. He completed his GP training in St. James’s Hospital, Dublin. He undertook further training in Psychiatry in St. Loman’s Hospital; and has worked in several top Hospitals in Ireland. He is a member of the Irish College of General Practitioners (ICGP); he is a member on the Specialist Register for General Practitioners in Ireland; a member of The European College of Aesthetic Medicine and a member of The Faculty of Occupational Medicine (Ireland). He has a special interest in Paediatrics, Women’s & Men’s Health, Occupational Health and Aesthetics.
Dr. Anthony McCusker graduated MB, BCh, BAO from University College Galway. He completed his GP training in Northern Ireland and Scotland. He undertook further training in Geriatric Medicine (Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow); and has worked in several top Hospitals. He is a member of the Irish College of General Practitioners (ICGP); a member of The European College of Aesthetic Medicine; and a member of The Faculty of Occupational Medicine (Ireland). He has a special interest in Sports Medicine, Paediatrics, Women’s & Men’s Health, Occupational Health and Aesthetics.
Nurse Lisa Dargan is a qualified General Nurse as well as a qualified Paediatric Nurse with 18+ years experience of caring for children from birth up to 14 years of age (in Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin). Her expertise lies in performing physical examinations on children, taking vital signs, diagnosing illness, ordering investigative tests, administering medication, and administering childhood immunisations.
Nurse Maureen Young is a qualified General Nurse as well as a qualified Psychiatric Nurse. She has 30+ years experience working as a Staff Nurse in various Hospitals in Ireland & abroad. Her expertise lies in providing advice, care and support of the Elderly. She has worked in the Elder Assessment Unit (Beaumont Hospital); the Acute Assessment Unit (St. John of God Hospital); Neurology Unit (in Hampstead, London) amongst others in Germany and USA.
Nurse Ciara Whelan is a qualified General Nurse as well as a qualified Senior Midwife. She has 13+ years experience (in the Coombe Hospital) on all maternity wards - including the delivery suite, antenatal & postnatal wards, and caring for pregnant women, mothers & babies. Her expertise lies in providing advice, care and support for women and their babies during pregnancy and the early postnatal period.
Katie Kavanagh MacCarthy is the Practice Manager. Her background is in Human Resources Management, and Health & Safety Management. Her business experience brings together the day-to-day management needs as well as a strategic perspective to Clondalkin Medical Centre; ensuring all patient needs are catered for and delivered in a professional manner.
Emma Ventura is the Practice Receptionist. All patients can be assured a warm and friendly welcome from her. Emma’s excellent organisational skills ensures all bookings and queries are dealt with efficiently and effectively.
